Giflor introduces a new paradigm with jigger flip-tops

  • Giflor

Giflor, the leading Italian firm dedicated to excellent closure design and production, has released a new closure perfect for a number of applications. The closure combines the best of two paradigms as it may be used as either a dosing jigger or as a simple flip top.

Made of sturdy materials, the new closure (item 301 in the Giflor catalogue) offers consumers two ways to dispense their products, either measured by the jigger or poured out directly. As a solution for liquid laundry detergent, for example, the benefits are obvious. The consumer can either measure out an appropriate amount to do a load of laundry using the jigger, or can simply use the flip top feature to pop open the top and pour out a small amount for spot treatment.

The jigger offers a 30 ml dose when used, while the flip top opens to a 5mm dispensing orifice, fitting a ø 36 mm neck finish, perfect for carefully dispensing without having to worry about large spills or over-pouring.

While the new closure has already been implemented in a number of household products (including the aforementioned liquid laundry detergent), it's also ideal for a number of consumer products, such as household cleaning products, plant or lawn care products, light commercial cleaning products, or even food and beverage applications (one firm is looking into matching the closures with flavouring syrups for beverages and desserts).

Regardless of the application selected, the new closure is an improvement over standard screw top dosing cups, as it offers dual functionality, better dispensing, and materials and design that ensure it will last throughout the home life of the product.
